                            A special message to all Sussex Clubs:

Dear fellow rugby enthusiasts and supporters,

A question for you. Did you have a suitably trained and qualified referee last weekend for your 3rds or 4ths or Vets or Under 17s? I suspect the answer may be "No!"

The solution to the problem lies in your hands.

You are the key to providing referees, whether simply to provide referees for your own lower level club games or for mini and junior games, even up to e.g. Under 14s. In other words for all games where the society, at present, is unable to cover, due to insufficient numbers of qualified referees.

Yes, we do need more referees who are suitably qualified for the level of game they need to referee.

Get those who you know who are interested, curious, able or willing to take on those games, or for those who wish to take their refereeing further. We will do everything we can to train them, support them, advise and coach them, so that we can all ensure that all youngsters get the best referees possible. They are the future of our game.
